According to Nassau County police detectives, the owner of the Liberty Gas Station on Austin Boulevard in North Long Beach was notified by a NYS Lottery investigator regarding a discrepancy in lotto ticket sales.
Police said that typically, the gas station generates approximately $1,000 to $2,000 daily through lotto, though on Sunday, Feb. 20, lottery ticket sales exceeded $35,000.
The investigation into the ticket sales led police to determine that an employee, Ana Pachucho, age 50, of Babylon, was printing tickets illegally and she was arrested without incident at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 in North Long Beach.
Pachucho was charged with third-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, Feb. 24 at First District Court in Hempstead.
